FITNESS SCHOLARSHIPS
The Australian College of Sport & Fitness Scholarship Program aims to help 40 young Australian school leavers to start their career in the fitness industry.
The College is looking for young, motivated Australians who are determined to make a real difference to the health and wellbeing of all Australians.
What Scholarships are available?
► 1 of 5 Complete Fitness scholarships (Valued at over $3,800 each)
This scholarship entitles the successful applicant to a fully paid and fully inclusive Ultimate Fitness Trainer program that includes the nationally recognised fitness qualifications; the Certificate III in Fitness (SRF30206) and a Certificate IV in Fitness (SRF40206).
► 1 of 35 Equipment Scholarships (Valued at over $1,000 each)
This scholarship entitles the successful applicant to training and education equipment to support and enhance their fitness education. The package, worth over $1,000, contains fitness equipment, fitness textbooks and learning materials. This Scholarship is awarded when the recipient commences a fitness qualification at the Australian College of Sport & Fitness.

Statistics show over 20-25% Australian children are now overweight or obese. Plus, less and less Australian children are exercising each year making this problem even worse.
As part of your application, we ask applicants to submit your own original ideas on how we can fight child obesity in Australia. Your ideas will be reviewed as part of your overall scholarship application.

Eligibility
All four of the following criteria must be met in order for your application to be considered
- You must be a school leaver in 2009
- The Application Form must be fully completed and signed by you and your School’s principal or careers advisor.
- It must be submitted to the College by 31st October
- You must submit your original ideas for the “Fighting child obesity’ challenge question.
Judging Process
The Applications will be assessed based on the following criteria:
- Evidence that the applicant has a commitment to a career in fitness
- The quality of ideas presented in the ‘challenge question’
- Completed and clearly presented Application
All Applications will be judged by a panel consisting of Australian College of Sport & Fitness lecturers, training and management team.
The Panel will make their final decision based on who they determine will make a real difference in the Health and Fitness Industry.
Decisions of the Judging Panel are final and no correspondence will be entered into in respect to those decisions.
Issuing Scholarships
Scholarships will be issued in the form of course fee credits and/or tangible equipment and educational items as provided by the Australian College of Sport & Fitness.
Scholarship winners must commence their studies by March 2010.
Scholarship Terms & Conditions
- You must be a permanent resident of Australia.
- You must not have already received a Scholarship from the College
- You must not have already nationally recognised fitness qualifications
- The Scholarship winner is subject to the standard terms and conditions of enrolment of the College.
- Education Scholarships - The College does offer a variety of study options for our professional programs including internships, flexible learning, classroom based programs. The College will discuss with the successful applicants their most preferred method of study, but the College reserves the right to ultimately determine the mode of study offered to the scholarship winner based on combination of the applicants preferences, the applicants geographic location and the availability of College training resources.
- Complete Fitness Scholarship – applicants who receive the fitness training and equipment scholarships are eligible to receive their scholarship once they have selected and paid for a professional fitness course at the Australian College of Sport & Fitness. If the student decides to cancel their course and is eligible for a refund on course fees, then the student must also forfeit their equipment scholarship and return the equipment package undamaged before the refund will be made.
- The successful applicants must provide a brief report at the end of their course and the College would appreciate the winners of the Scholarship making themselves available for publicity purposes.
- If the Scholarship winner breaches any College terms or conditions the College, at its discretion, may terminate the student’s scholarship and remainder of their course.
- No payments of cash will be made to Scholarship winners.
- Scholarships are not transferrable between persons or for cash equivalent.
- The successful applicants will release and hold harmless the College, its Director, staff, trainers and agents in respect to any property loss or personal injury that may be sustained whilst participating in their course or attending the College whosoever caused.
- Any other matter not specifically mentioned in the scholarship terms and condition or the College Policies is at the discretion of the College.
- It is a condition of application to this scholarship program that you have read and understood these conditions and agree to abide by them.
